Programmed Hell is a series of one-hour sets exploring sonic landscapes and rhythmic synth patches/programs. Sometimes it is played live, sometimes a sequencer is used, and sometimes both.
The first three volumes had no rules or specific challenges. Starting with volume IV, I decided that I would, at least some of the time, set specified limits to make things technically interesting for me. For example, volume IV has the limit of only using two synthesizers. Not a very big limit, since my selections were the Korg Triton Extreme and the Waldorf Blofeld desktop, both of which are 16-part multi-timbral. For volume V, I'm thinking of requiring that every patch be processed by another synthesizer before it gets heard.
